Flags Of Our Follies

A team of five artists from Lisbon, Portugal have created an awareness campaign called, “Meet The World.”

The campaign consists of eight national flags from various countries being represented in a new light, or shadow rather. They’ve taken statistics they’ve gathered from Amnesty International and the United Nations to reinterpret the colors on each flag. The topics portrayed by the eight flags come from shocking statistics that touch on current world events such as drug trafficking in Columbia, the war in Iraq and infant mortality in Africa.

The “Meet The World” campaign has been circulating the globe via email chain letters.

Meet the world, indeed.

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda

Image a world in which Jude Law portrays sword wielding swashbuckler, Will Turner. Or one where Matthew McConaughey falls for a debutante darling named Rose De Witt Bukater aboard the USS Titanic or perhaps even one in which Haley Joel Osment, of Sixth Sense fame, trades in his paranormal communication abilities for a broom, a wand and classes at Hogwarts.

“Noooo,” you say. “Impossible.” But these casting decisions nearly came to pass.

Notstarring.com has put together the most comprehensive list of shoulda, woulda, coulda roles on the interweb. Search your favorite actor for every role they turned down or got turned down for.

How Many Knickers Could A Knicker Picker Pick?

Online shopping can be risky business. No, I don’t mean in regards to identity theft. I’m thinking more along of the lines of size uncertainty and the buyer’s remorse that ensues after receiving an ill fitting item in the mail from your favorite dot com.

Online shopping for lingerie can be all too troublesome. And that’s exactly why the folks across the pond at Knickerpicker.com have developed a flash animated site that allows the customer to try their bras and panties on for size.

A selection of real life models model your desired undergarments on for you in a virtual dressing room, so you can see exactly what you’re getting. Brilliant idea, wouldn’t you say?

Ol’ Blue Eyes

Frankie here is the world’s only blue-eyed koala, (that they know of anyway.) His shocking baby blues gave his caretakers quite the fright, thinking a lack of vision might be the cause. But Frankie passed the vision test with flying colors.

Nine-month-old Frankie lives in captivity at Dreamworld Gold Coast Theme Park in Australia. He was named after Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.

Marion, Je T’aime

Oh, awards season…one big fashion show. This year’s SAG Awards has proven to be one of the most glamorous events of the past 12 months or maybe even the past 12 years, if I may be so bold. Tinseltown’s darlings dressed to the nines and made sure every detail was primped to perfection (or at least their stylists did).

These three ladies were especially flawless and did the red carpet the way it’s meant to be done.

Peep That Street Style

Who doesn’t love a good street style blog these days? The web is littered with them, even so, it’s almost impossible to ever get enough. I myself happen to scour the World Wide Web in search of the latest and greatest in global street style trends on a daily basis.

After all, the streets and sidewalks of the cities we inhabit are the greatest runways of all.

While combing through the vastness that is the Internet I came across what has quickly become my very favorite street style blog to date, Street Peeper. We’re all used to seeing street style blogs dedicated to particular cities, London, New York, Berlin, Los Angeles…and the list goes on and on. But what makes Street Peeper so unique is that they’ve commissioned nearly a dozen photographers from every corner of the globe to snap photos of the hippest of trend setters in their home cities and the cities they frequent (over 20 destinations).

Street Peeper is your one stop shop for global style, oh and it just oozes with hipster chic!

Below are some of my favorite looks taken from the site.
